Everything can be replaced – you, me, all the products we use, all the services we use.
With what? With better ones.
Now I know this sounds too pessimistic, I want you to try looking at it from a different angle.
Those better ones I talked about,
We can be those better ones. Or we can be the ones who create those better products and services.
Let’s go one by one.
Why does someone stay in a job they don’t love?
Please don’t tell me we all have always loved what we do.
Probably the reason is we really don’t think we can get better ones.
But if we try upskilling ourselves, we can be those better ones getting better jobs.
The second case, creating better products and services.
Most of us really don’t give a thought to having an option of the best products and services that are yet not in the market.
For instance, when we talk about smartphones, most of us having this thought of the latest iPhone is the best ever option.
I understand the fact that most of us don’t always have access to the best products and services in the world. So, how do we really think about better ones than the best?
But, in today’s world of renting culture, free trials, freemiums, and subscriptions(Saas and all others), I believe there’s a chance for everyone to experience the best, at least a part of it, at least for some time.
If we need a recent example, think about the crypto industry.
Finance and banking were some of the fields that people couldn’t disrupt on a massive scale for a very long time. The major reason – these organizations and their laws were controlled and managed by governments.
Few people thought of a new way to disrupt this centralization. And then we had bitcoin and the crypto revolution. Bitcoin was launched in 2009.
In a mere 12 years, most of us have heard about it and got some idea about it.
Now the concept of decentralization has become immensely popular that millions of technologists and innovators are building on it. And many more see it as the future.
Things can change and change fast.
If you can take just one thought from this, it needs to be that everyone and everything can become better. And we could be those better ones or better creators.
The starting point is always the thought that better ones are possible.
