This is one of the most important realisations I have learnt in my life.
I have a ton of dreams that came from the books I read, the movies I watch and the real people I have seen.
I had this thought early on that accompanied my life that all of these are going to come real one day.
All my hopes and dreams will get materialized automatically if I just flow through life.
But Boy, I was wrong. Nothing is going to come your way until you put the real effort into each of the dreams specifically. I think many of us are living in this dream world that things will just fall into place if we go about life just the way we do now. No, this is never going to happen automatically unless you put real conscious effort to make those dreams come into reality.

A part of our misconception stems from the thought that something’s going to happen magically in our life that will just make our fantasies a reality.
This is one of the reasons why people regret the things they didn’t do when they were young. Because they realized that no one gave them that big break they always hoped would come their way. This realization came when they passed more than half of their life spectrum.
I feel it is better to keep a specific thought as your companion for life.
I am the master of my life. I am the captain of my life ship. I have to decide now and align my choices and actions to match my destination. This is a continuous journey. Each choice I make today has the power to take me closer to my destination.
This fact should not stress you out on making even a tiny choice. There is always a chance to course-correct your journey if you wish to do that.

I compare my life destination to someting like that of the top point of a mountain. There are millions of ways to reach the top. Yes, you have to pivot, make calculated risks and jump into the unknown at times. But there’s always a way to reach your destination if you really wanted to.
I had a huge shift in my thoughts once I realized that no one’s coming to give me that big break. I realized that I can’t live my life solely hoping for that big break. I became more aware of my life choices knowing that I can always course-correct later.

You can live any kind of life you want. It’s just that you have to pay the price.
There is nothing like a free meal in life. Yes, people get lucky. Luck is a highly complex phenomenon which we call when we’re really not sure about the efforts that had gone behind it.
We get lucky if are prepared for the opportunities that come in our way.
You just have to keep this single thought in your mind; ‘No one’s coming to save you’.
This alone will transform the way you live your life in a way you have never imagined.
